Best Actress (NYC) makes “attic music” — delicate, fleeting songs built from the voice memo graveyards of its three songwriting partners: Erin Harland (solo pop), Georgia Pettit (Our Lady of Sorrows), and Ryan Jantz (no big). What began as sharing abandoned song ideas became a beloved process of softly collecting home-recorded tracks — all under three minutes — made over the course of two years with too much coffee (or wine), hours-long inspo playlists, karaoke as a church, playing in each other’s bands, and throwing an epic Oasis cover party. Their debut I Know It Sounds Bad, produced by Nate Mendelsohn (Market) with art by Lucy Anderson, is out February 2026.
